STRATA

Strata is a black and white fine art photography series exploring the Southern Victorian coastline, where millions of years of geological change are etched into stone. Each photograph isolates fractured rock, sediment and texture, revealing the landscape as a record of time written layer by layer.

Absent of horizon, sky or human presence, the series removes all sense of scale, allowing the landscape to be experienced beyond geography. What remains are surfaces shaped by forces that long predate humanity, where erosion becomes both subject and storyteller.

Strata is a long-form photographic study of geological time, inviting the viewer to consider the enduring relationship between landscape, memory and the passage of time.
